Mr. Khanin Hosiriphon
Mr. Khanin Hosiriphon is a sixth-year medical student at the Faculty of Medicine Siriraj Hospital, Mahidol University He is interested in a research topic of “Personalized nudge-based application to promote healthy lifestyles among people with Early-Onset Type 2 Diabetes (EOT2DM) in Thailand.”
The number of people with early-onset type 2 diabetes has been increasing due to the changing lifestyles, leading to deteriorating health habits. People with early-onset type 2 diabetes is exposed to a prolonged hyperglycemic state, resulting in cost-burden complications and usually requiring early polypharmacy due to the failure rate of conventional drugs. However, to achieve the targeted hyperglycemic goal, patients need good adherence to lifestyle modifications. Unfortunately, only 20% of people with EOT2DM were successful in glycemic control with standard lifestyle modifications. Although modifying health behaviors poses a challenging task, Mr. Khanin Hosiriphon is determined to assist in achieving better health habits for people with early-onset type 2 diabetes in Thailand. He is interested in using applications based on health recommendations tailored to individuals, together with the principles of Nudge Theory. His goal is to help improve health behaviors for people with early-onset type 2 diabetes in Thailand with the hope of enhancing their quality of life.

Ms. Natnicha Manaboriboon
Ms. Natnicha Manaboriboon is a sixth-year medical student at the Faculty of Medicine Siriraj Hospital, Mahidol University. She is interested in a research topic of “Global health governance internship: Lessons to be learnt from the WHO’s Triple Billion Target.”
She is a firm believer that Global Health is crucial in today’s globalized society, which made more apparent ever since the pandemic. Her internship project will help her gain a better understanding of Global Health Governance, which are the deep currents that propels forward health issues we are familiar about, such as, pandemics and climate change, etc. During the one year secondment at the WHO headquarter in Geneva, not only she plans to document the knowledge she gained, she will also fulfill a part of Thailand’s Global Health Action Plan which is to push Thailand’s potential ability to become a Global Health leader, leading Thai and developing countries’ efforts to create equitable international health policies that will benefit all population.

Ms. Peenaprapa Tangpradubkiat
Ms. Peenaprapa Tangpradubkiat is a sixth-year medical student at the Faculty of Medicine, Chulalongkorn University. She is interested in a research topic of “Optimized mass colorectal screening using novel approach.”
Colorectal cancer is a significant public health burden both in Thailand and globally. Despite the disease being preventable, high mortality rate is prominently found due to suboptimal mass screening from limitations of resources availability and screening tools as well as the existing passive approach in identifying high risk individuals. Ms. Peenaprapa Tangpradubkiat focuses on establishing a novel approach, under sequential screening concept, by developing risk scoring algorithm based on Thai health database to proactively identify high risk patients and provide deep learning assisted-interpretation of colon capsule endoscopy to them to address the issue of low compliance rate and limited resources. She expects optimized mass colorectal screening in both Thai and global population as well as a reduction in morbidity, mortality, and public health burden of colorectal cancer in the future

Mr. Supakrit Kositbovornchai
Mr. Supakrit Kositbovornchai is a sixth-year medical student at the Faculty of Medicine Siriraj Hospital, Mahidol University. He is interested in a research topic of “A cohort of live humanized models of TNBC for cancer precision medicine and drug resistance research.”
Cancer is one most significant health problems in the world. Breast cancer is the most common cancer in females which is increasing each year. Among all types of breast cancer, triple-negative breast cancer has the worst prognosis, the highest metastatic rate, common in young-onset, but still has a limitation in treatment. As a result, precision medicine has important in treating triple-negative breast cancer. Mr. Supakrit Kositbovornchai is interested in exploring the treatment of triple-negative breast cancer by using humanized models to find the relationship between genetic profile and drug response. His goal is to discover the cure for triple-negative breast cancer and to improve the quality of patients with breast cancer in Thailand.

Mr. Suvinai Jiraboonsri
Mr. Suvinai Jiraboonsri is a sixth-year medical student at the Faculty of Medicine, Chulalongkorn University. He is interested in a research topic of “Organoid technology in colorectal carcinogenesis induced by particulate matter 2.5.”
Currently, the issue of PM 2.5 is becoming increasingly severe and has significant impacts on the health of the Thai population. Empirical evidences have shown that this type of pollution can cause respiratory tract cancers such as lung cancer. Epidemiological studies also indicate a clear correlation with various other types of cancer, including colorectal cancer, in Thai population. Despite the clear association, there is no empirical evidence on the causation and the mechanisms of pathogenesis remain obscured. Mr. Suvinai Jiraboonsri is particularly interested in exploring the mechanisms of cancer development using organoid technology. Organoids are three-dimensional cell cultures that closely mimic the behaviour of cells in human body and thus, offer high concordance in pathogenesis modelling. The knowledge obtained from this research will serve as a crucial foundation for policy development and further research to prevent and alleviate the impacts of PM 2.5 pollution on the health of the Thai people in the future.
